There is no set curriculum in a Montessori elementary environment. Children learn at an individual pace and by their own interests. Pursuing their interests the child finds himself walking down the path of Pythagoras studying the interplay of triangles in the subject of geometry or studying the interplay of words in a poem. The Elementary child’s quest is to understand his world and how it works. News of an earthquake in Ecuador fuels a passion to understand the function of the Earth and its different layers
